Since yesterday and moments like this...
...we're feeling revived.
Here's why:
1. A peaceful night's sleep.
2. Successful return of our rental car.
3. A quiet Florence neighborhood and a great circa 1600 apartment with a garden.
4. Replacement sandals. (nod to www.endless.com for refunding my money with only photos as proof)
5. Glimpses of the busy and beautiful city that we have a week to explore.
I can almost hear Keith replying...."Yep!"
Thankful to read that you have once again re-settled in yet another city....with perhaps a new pair of shoes! What lovely weather seems to welcome you two wherever you go!
The place you are staying looks lovely....very fitting for today....the Taxi? Since you made no comments about it I will assume for the present that you have not yet rented one!
No scooters for us, at least not in the city. We'd like to come home in one piece. 🙂
I don't know if technology and Firenze are allowed to mix- you've entered a 17th century vortex.
Yes - we step in and out all the time.
We named our GPS, Bella, and she saved us more than once.
The only problem was that you could drive pass the turn while she tried to spit out the street names...
And quickly learned the most hated word of modern travelers... Recalculating!
Do not leave that city without ordering a Bistecca dinner. We found a small out the way restaurant in a neighborhood. Oh my! Need lots of wine to cut through all that meat. Steak by the kilo!
It's funny you'd mention Bistecca - when we left Trattoria il Carmine last night, we asked the waiter what we should order on a return visit. You know what he said...
