And when I say "storm", I mean that all afternoon the wind snarls at us; it billows our coats and drains tears from our eyes. Despite it, we inch up winding stairwells, peer from sunlit slits where hundreds of fingers released thousands of arrows, and walk on top and inside(!) of a mighty stone wall.
The Rocca Maggiore, The Major Fortress, is an ancient military fortress where once soldiers protected Assisi and now visitors contemplate battles and enjoy spectacular views.
I agree- it is nice seeing the two of you! Marissa's brilliant eyes, and I was waiting for Keith to release an arrow up there! It's not like you are on a solo south american trip and can't take pictures of yourselves!
Someone's been taking pictures of you way over there...glad you're feeling better.
Awesome shots!!! It looks like you had the place to yourselves?
You're right, we had the place to ourselves - it was so windy! But somehow it made exploring the ruins that much more fun...
I agree with Jenn that the additional pictures of the two of you make this series the most delightful and heartwarming!
This might be one of my favorite posts simply because of all the pictures of you guys! I love seeing your gorgeous faces in such spectacular scenery! I'm pretty sure I have seen that castle in a movie before!
Jenn - we had so. much. fun. And you'll love that Rebecca told us that mom's gather inside the castle in an open square to chat, while their kids run wild exploring the castle. How's that for a playground?
