Wow! Is your head exploding from all these sites yet? I think back at our 2 weeks in Europe and my mind is blown by all we saw...how are you even able to fit all of Italy in your head??? I am so amazed and excited to talk with you guys about this whole experience!
What is Keith eating?? Oh and I really like his sweater!
Hmmm, good question. I think we'll be happy to have this blog/record of our trip to re-live it when we get home. Keith's eating fresh roasted chestnuts and I love that sweater too! 🙂
John and I were in Rome for our honeymoon 38 years ago and I bought a small jewelery box made of leather and still have it. The hinges are broken but I still treasure it!! Have fun!
Looks like you are having gorgeous weather - congrats! A couple of other ideas for Rome that I didn't post earlier (just found my "Italy trip ideas" folder on my computer):
Santa Sabina, one of the oldest Christian basilicas in Rome, built in the early 5th century. “Orange Park” is a hidden gem next to Santa Sabina. A symmetrical grove of orange trees, potted plants, and benches, the walled park offers a stunning view of the Tiber and St. Peter’s. And at night, the view through the main gate towards St. Peters is....….worth staying on the Aventine for.
Castello St. Angelo for the view of Rome
Night tour of Sistine Chapel
Villa Borghese
Sunset at the Pincio gardens (near Piazza del Popolo)
Cereria di Giorgio, a candle maker in Trastevere on Vi San Francesco di Sales. There used to be many, he's the last one left. (rec. by Elizabeth Minchilli)
I remember being blown away by the coliseum - pictures don't do it justice. Enjoy the rest of your trip!!
You're right about the pix - true of so many things here.
Fini with The Pantheon. That's a wonderful building: an intentional hole in the roof!
Nice to see the larger-scale map, too.
Keith was just reading to me that the hole in the Pantheon roof is structural. You're right - wonderful building.

Yo soy muy jealoso. La Paz es muy interesante, pero ne es una "Roma". Ay, que lastima! Magnifico!
Here's what Google Translate did with that - "I am very jealoso. La Paz is very interesting, but ne is a "Rome." Oh, that hurts! Magnifico!" 🙂

Lovely! Thanks so much.
