Carne Asada Steak Salad with Mojo dressing is a lightened up and delicious way to serve grilled Carne Asada steak! With steak, tomatoes, feta, avocado and a zingy Mojo dressing that's a riff on Carne Asada marinade!

Yes, I've been on a Grilled Carne Asada tear this week (and here's my recipe for Carne Asada in the oven too!). I wanted to offer up one last option that I love: Carne Asada Steak Salad with Mojo Dressing. Remember that divine marinade I was telling you about? It happens to double as a fabulous salad dressing.
You use all of the ingredients in the marinade, but adjust the amounts: scale back the jalapeño and garlic, increase the olive oil and blend it all into a silky dressing.
Just like Carne Asada Tacos, Carne Asada Burritos, Carne Asada Nachos, Carne Asada Quesadillas and Carne Asada Fries (phew!) this is best served family style. Serve the lettuce and all of the toppings separately and let everyone assemble their perfect salad including just the right amount of dressing (Creamy, spicy Jalapeño Ranch Dressing or Cilantro Lime Vinaigrette would also be excellent!). If you love this hearty salad, be sure to try my Mexican Chopped Salad as well!

- Serve family-style letting each person assemble their own salad and add dressing as they like.
Being half Cuban, I’m dying to try this salad. Question-how long the dressing last in the fridge?
Hi B! The refrigerated dressing will last for about a week.
This dressing is fire 🔥!!!
aww thanks so much!
first time here and the dressing is incredible. We used carnitas as the meat. Wonderful
So glad you enjoyed this, Jim! Thank you for coming back to let me know.
This was just what I was looking for absolutely delicious, light, flavorful and everything I was looking for! Highly recommend to anyone in need of a tasty salad.
That's wonderful to hear, Stephanie! So glad you enjoyed!
Could you serve this salad with cold left over carne asada or should it be served warm?
Either way works great, Doug! We usually serve it with cold, leftover carne asada, but it's great with hot or room temperature steak too.
I've made this dressing twice in the last month. It is so good! Thanks for such a light, refreshing dressing that I will probably be using on every salad forever!
Awesome! Made my day, Jen. 🙂
My word, just when I though your carne asada couldn't get any better you went and made a fabulous salad utilizing it! DROOL! I LOVE that the marinade is doubling as the dressing! I mean, Mojo Dressing? YES YES YES!! Such a gorgeous salad, Marissa!!! Cheers!
You are too kind, my friend! 😉 Thank you!
I love me a salad that is also a meal. Let the mojo rain! Killer photos here Marissa. 🙂
Yes! Bring on the carne asada! This looks so freakin' good, Marissa! And your pictures are just stunning! I'm all over that mojo dressing - it has all of those wonderful flavors I adore! This is definitely on my next to make from you!

Absolutely beautiful! I love salads with meaty protein, and this dressing sounds to die for. Saving this recipe for sure!
Thanks, Mary! I agree - makes it a meal... 🙂
Yes! The carne asada love continues! I love this salad for a lighter way to incorporate carne asada. It looks SO incredibly yummy <3
Thank you, Beeta! 🙂
This is absolutely beautiful! I love cooking up a big cut of meat and using it throughout the week in different ways like this. It doesn't get any better than this salad...that dressing sounds like perfection!
Thank you! We're the same way, Faith. I love to cook something on Sunday and then eat it in different forms for the first few weekdays - definitely makes evenings less hectic.
Ooh I could probably make up a batch of this and keep it in the fridge for a dressing or a marinade! 😀
Definitely! Would work great for either... 🙂
Hi Marissa! Just when I thought it couldn't get any better, here you go again! I have been craving salads lately, probably because summer is ending soon. 🙁 This is so perfect and satisfies the carnivores as well as the vegetarians!
Hi Dorothy! Your comments always make me smile. I couldn't resist posting one more recipe because every time I make Carne Asada and smell that marinade I think, "Some day, I'm going to make those ingredients into salad dressing!" And this time I finally did and it's so good that I had to share. Have a wonderful Labor Day weekend, my friend!
